In the beginning of class we recite the Student Creed. At the end of class, we recite the Principles of Black Belt. These are our codes of how to live and treat other people and ourselves.
Student Creed
Number One:
I intend to develop myself in a positive manner, and to avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth or my physical health.
Number Two:
I intend to develop self discipline, in order to bring out the best in myself and others.
Number Three:
I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively, to help myself and my fellow man, and never to be abusive or offensive.
Arikata Martial Arts is a Black Belt School. As dedicated students of the martial arts, we live by the Principles of a Black Belt:
- MODESTY
- COURTESY
- INTEGRITY
- SELF CONTROL
- PERSEVERANCE
- INDOMITABLE SPIRIT
Our program helps our students to become confident in the things they do, respectful of who they are and knowledgeable of how to act. We train for success and happiness.
